I'm looking for one I read about... It had to do with a post to ER about acronyms, abbreviations, terms, etc. that would not be allowed in reports. Example: "Acute lead poisoning" in refrence to GSW. I read it on one of the forums or MT sites but can't find it now. Has anyone seen it and remember the site?

I appreciate your reply but this isn't it... The one I'm looking for is in the form of a letter sent from admin.(?) to the ER dept/paramedics informing them that they would no longer be allowed to use certain phrases/terms/acronyms.

I love that one that Kim linked to. My favorite line: "Acute Pneumoencephalopathy - airhead" I can just imagine an ER report that starts, "The patient is a 21-year-old pneumocephalic female . . . " I'm not personally familiar with the one you're looking for, Pat. I hope you'll post a link here when you find it. Humor is a Good Thing. Here's a pretty funny Medical Humor and Satire site. Do read the disclaimer -- don't take any of it seriously! [I wish the one about the contest rules buried in drug ad fine print was true, but I actually read the darn things, so I know it isn't.] Thanks once again to Harrie who showed me how to use the code on this forum to make fancy links like those above. Here's the method. You must take out the extra spaces after [ to make this actually work: [ url=http://www.yourlink.com]TEXT DESCRIBING LINK[ /url]
