Making Fiends is a delightful Flash cartoon featuring Vendetta who makes fiends [such as a cat as big as a house] and Charlotte who makes friends, as well as their timid/intimidated schoolteacher and classmates. The catchy theme and monkey songs will stick in your brain longer than "It's A Small World." Episode 11 has just been posted; it's adorable! Albino Blacksheep is another source of excellent Flash shorts, but it's a very mixed bag of wonderful animation and childish stunts. Try Jaws in 30 Seconds and Re-Enacted by Bunnies. Do not look at "I love someone whose name starts with a G" [upsetting image warning]. The hand-eye coordination test, Ink Blot test, and others under Pranks are "shock" files: they get you concentrating on doing some task or another then suddenly present graphic or scary images. I don't personally care for them, but some people love sending them to their friends. So . . . why am I even linking to the site when I know there's some icky stuff there? Because when the material there is good, it's very, very good. Just so you know, I won't ever place a link here unless I've personally checked it out and know that it won't be upsetting to anyone. Other goodies on their site include Tetris and the arcade classic, Space Invaders. Do you like puzzle games? Try the Crimson Room and the Viridian Room. They're quite tricky. If you have too much trouble, use Google to look for a walk-through. The order in which you do things matters.

And yet another site to distract me from what I am supposed to be doing aka Work Thanks Joi Granny I try, sweetie! Balance <-- that's been the key for me. I work hard, and then I like to play. I also believe in "everything in moderation, including moderation." If I can be serious for just a moment here . . . does it bother anyone when I post fun links? I'd be interested in your opinions. I saw some discussion of this on Harrie's forum. Some people liked that there were no "distracting" links on that forum, strictly production-related links. My inclination is to want to share both with my friends; I post only what I feel are the best fun links, not every amusing thing I run across. I also limit my off-topic posts to these boards so that MTs who find fun links too tempting can avoid them by not reading the threads. I take as my model the excellent MT Desk forums. What do you think? Joi

Joi, I'm with you and a firm believer in All work and no play ... So bring them on. We all need distractions from our hectic, frustrating, agravating, (well you got the picture) lives every so often. GrannyT
