I just went through my 2-hour training and I am doing some practice reports. I would like to know if a space is always automatically inserted after a word or phrase is expanded. In other words, do I have to backspace after a phrase is expanded to insert a period, or is there an easier way?
Also, how I can make my favorite search sites easily accessible when I am working? I added them to my "Favorites" but it is not accessible from my work screen.
I hope these questions make sense! Thanks Joi for letting me know about this forum. I like the way it is set up! ;D

Hi Sandy
Expansions are activated by punctuation, hyphens, and return. You don't have to backspace. Just type the short form, put the period, or whatever, and it will expand.
Regarding your favorites. I'm sure I won't explain this with the proper terms, but here goes: Down on your taskbar while you're in the platform, there is another window open. I forget what it's called, something like download manager. Anyhow, if you click on that, it should be your web browser where you can access your favorites. Then when you're done, just click back on the platform and you're right back to the report. Or you can minimize everything and open your browser from your desktop.
Also, while you're in the report and you check the client profile or your line count, etc., your browser is what is used to display that information.
I hope this helps... hopefully I explained it correctly. If not, I'm sure someone else will be along soon.
Good luck!

Thanks for your help. I understand now how to put a period at the end of an expansion. I have used Instant Text before, and when I typed an expansion and wanted to insert a period, IT backspaced automatically. I guess the work program doesn't work that way.
I figured out how to get to my favorites too! You explained it very well. Thanks!
