I have just received the following:
Please do not pull WordPerfect or Word macros into DEP platform documents. The DEP platform is self contained to assure an accurate demographic-to-text file match. DQS has security protection to assure HIPAA compliance. Cutting and pasting from files outside the system can cause violation of the privacy of patient medical records and lead to errors in ADT matching and text content.
Use only those text files that are built into DQS. If you have additional text that you use repeatedly for certain work types or dictators, add these to your DQS text expander. Your DQS manual explains how to add your own expansions. Use of cut and paste text from outside of DQS is prohibited.
I have put my doctor "normals"on the task bar as previously mentioned. They were at one time in the expander for DQS, but have been cleaned up and given appropriate @@ signs, and are much easier to use.
Can some computer guru tell me if this means I can no longer use these "normals"? thanks!

Don't worry. As long as you use Notepad, you will be safe. Notepad uses a plain-vanilla ASCI text style which does not format the text and will not interfere with The Platform's function the way Word, WordPerfect, or WordPad text can.
I understand posters at MTDaily advocated some cut/paste techniques that had The Platform's tech staff tearing its collective hair. The advice given on this form will not cause problems with The Platform.
